These Terms may be varied from time to time and will be updated on the website. You will be bound by the Terms you accept at the time of booking your lesson. If you book more than one lesson at the same time, the terms and conditions applicable at the time of booking will apply to each lesson booked at that time.
In these terms and conditions (the “Conditions”) “We”, “Us” or “Our” means MCR Driving School Ltd.
“You” or “Your” means you the customer.
1.1 You must be 17 years or older and hold a current UK Provisional driving licence or equivalent overseas licence and carry it with you at all times during a lesson
1.2 You must be able to read a vehicle number plate from 20.5 meters. If required, glasses or vision contact lenses must be worn when driving.
1.3 Driving lessons commence and end at the pre-determined pick-up point, determined at the time of booking the lesson.
1.4 The duration of a standard driving lesson is one hour, which includes briefing and/or debriefing time.
1.5 Proper footwear is recommended to be worn during the lesson.
1.6 You must comply with the instructions or directions of your instructor at all times, before or during a lesson.
1.7 We reserve the right to terminate a lesson if you engage in any behaviour that your instructor determines is reckless or intimidating. A full lesson cancellation charge will be applied.
1.8 Any abusive behaviour, physical damage or unseemly conduct to your instructor will not be tolerated, and may lead to immediate cancellation of your course without refund. In addition, the responsible pupil must pay for any damage or shortfalls.
1.9 Neither we nor our driving instructors accept any liability whatsoever for personal property that is left in any instructor supplied vehicle.
2.1 We accept Cash, bank transfers and PayPal payments.
2.2 Payment must be made at the beginning of the session directly to the instructor. Block payments must be made at the commencement of each block.
2.3 All lesson payments are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and the lessons paid for must be taken within this period. You cannot sell or transfer any lessons which have been purchased in your name to any other person.
3.1 Gift vouchers are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. All lessons paid for must be taken in this period. Gift Vouchers have no cash value and have to be redeemed against tuition. Gift vouchers are not transferable.
4.1 Your instructor will carry the appropriate motor insurance which allows you to practice driving on roads.
4.2 MCR Driving School will provide the pupil with a dual control fitted car. The car will be tidy and no smoking is allowed in the vehicle at any time. MCR Driving School has a strict no smoking policy.
4.3 The tuition vehicle must be treated with care and respect. Any wilful or malicious damage must be paid for by the pupil responsible.
4.4 Use of your instructor’s vehicle is entirely at their discretion. This includes deciding if a pupil is at the required standard in order to attempt a practical test in their vehicle. Should you not be ready for the practical test, your driving instructor is authorised to deny you the use of his vehicle.
5.1 If you wish to postpone or cancel a lesson you should inform your instructor – a minimum of 48 hours prior notice is required. This is so your reserved slot can then be allocated to another pupil. Failure to provide due notice may result in the lesson(s) being charged for in full.
5.2 You must give more than 48 hours notice to cancel a lesson booking or your lesson fee will be payable.
5.3 You must give more than 48 hours notice to reschedule/postpone a lesson booking or your lesson fee will be payable.
5.4 We reserve the right to reschedule a lesson subject to the provision of reasonable notice.
5.5 If any event of delay / lateness, your instructor will wait 15 minutes and may deduct this from the total lesson time. In case of a No-Show a full lesson cancellation charge will be applied.
5.6 While every endeavour is made to commence the lesson at the scheduled time, no responsibility can be taken for circumstances beyond our control which may delay / cancel the lesson. In this case, we will offer you the full lesson time or, if that is not possible, we will reschedule to offer you a lesson at another time
5.7 We reserve the right to refuse to provide a lesson where you are unfit to operate a vehicle or suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol as reasonably determined by us.
6.1 All complaints are to be made at first to the instructor. If the complaint cannot be resolved then the student must write an email to info@mcrdrivingschool.co.uk
